Our Main Services
Jewelry Repair & Custom Design
Since 1986 CornerStone Fine Jewelry has provided expert jewelry repair and custom design to the Springfield area. Our award-winning jewelers perform the work in house and we always offer FREE inspection, cleaning, and repair estimates, regardless of where the item was purchased.
Some of the work that we do:
Prong re-tipping, prong replacement, & head replacement
Stone tightening & remounts
Chain and bracelet solders and clasp replacement
Rhodium plating (gold only)
Custom jewelry design: drawing, wax carving, casting & stone setting
Machine & hand engraving
Watch bands, link adjustments, & batteries (see below)
While a very few restrictions do apply, most of our work carries a one year service warranty. We are happy to work on jewelry that was not purchased with us; however, we always recommend first checking with the original store to verify that there is no existing purchase warranty or service plan, as it would be voided once the work is done.
We gladly replace batteries in most watches.* Most battery replacements** are $15 and changed while you wait. While the average life of a standard battery is 12-18 months, we'll replace it as needed for 3 years, free of charge. We proudly use Renata® and Sony® batteries.
* We open and reseal each watch appropriately according to its manufacture using industry standard hand tools. However, we do not water test any watch, and assume no liability for the water resistance of any watch in which we have changed the battery. Citizen® Eco-Drive, Seiko® Solar and Kinetic, and certified dive watches must be sent to the factory or brand-authorized service center if a new power cell is needed, as they require specialized power cells and/or equipment with which to change them.
** Digital sports watches and car keyless entry fobs carry only a one year guarantee on the battery due to the increased functionality of the device and subsequent drain on the battery. Seiko® Perpetual Calendar batteries are either $25 or $50 depending on the model, must be left for at least two hours to be properly re-set, and carry only a one year guarantee.
Watches that need service beyond a battery replacement are sent to our AWCI certified CMW21 professional watchmaker. There are specific exceptions and they are listed at the bottom of this page.
While every repair is estimated on an individual basis the price and time frame list below is a good starting point. These prices do not include taxes. A non-refundable $20 up front shipping fee comes off the final price if you approve the service estimate. There is no additional charge if the service is declined. Additional information regarding specific brands and older timepieces is listed below this price list.

All certified dive watches are sent to the appropriate authorized service center if possible. In the event that we cannot send it on your behalf we will provide you with the appropriate contact information. Citizen® Eco-Drive watches are sent to Citizen USA® for service. Seiko® Solar, Kinetic, and Perpetual Calendar watches are sent to Seiko Service USA®.
Rolex® and certain other luxury brands automatically require a full service (complete overhaul) which will be reflected in the service estimate. We are bound to those requirements in order to service those watches. In addition, due to Rolex® restrictions on independent watchmakers, any required parts may not be genuine Rolex® parts, OR they may be more expensive if genuine parts are available.
Antique (older than 100 years) and vintage (typically 30 - 99 years old) watches are notoriously expensive to service due to the fact that replacement parts are so often necessary but unavailable or difficult to source because of the age of the piece. Please be advised: it is extremely common with older pieces for the cost of the service to surpass the value of the watch. We will gladly advise you on the options available for your piece.
